When did you start an interest in rodeo? When I was a junior in high school.
What other sports other than rodeo do you enjoy? I enjoy snowboarding, basketball, anything outdoors…
What is the funniest thing that you have seen or experienced at a rodeo? Well, the funniest thing I saw at a rodeo happened to me. And it happened at Prescott one of the biggest rodeos in New Mexico. And I’ll just leave it at that…
What advice would you give to Indian youth about rodeo or anything in general? Shoot for the stars. Have dreams and set some goals..
What advice would you give to Indian youth who wanted to participate in rodeo but didn’t have the resources or support to get involved? Don’t be afraid to ask. I know a few cowboys/cowgirls that would be glad to lend a hand that includes me.
Are their any songs that inspire or pump you up before you ride or rope? Not really
What would you like to see more of at Indian Rodeos? I would like to see more sponsors
What are/is your favorite western movie(s)? The 3 amigos
What is your favorite music? Country is where it’s at.
What was your most memorable ride or run? It would have to be when I competed at my first rodeo.
Who is your all time hero? My Parents Alvin and Matilda Smith
What Indian Cowboy or Cowgirl has influenced you to rodeo? For me the influence didn’t come from just one person. To name a few my grandfather Toni A. Becenti who I believe was one of the top cowboys of his time. Alvin Smith who is a wicked team roper, steer wrestler, and calf roper. And my Mom who was a tough competitor in the barrel racing. Next, is the Jodie boys.
Would you like to thank sponsors and or anyone for your success in rodeo? I would like to thank my family. They have helped my out so much that I’m beginning to think that I’m never going to be able to repay them. THANK YOU
