It has been a busy winter for me at work and on a personal level. However, I am trying to get things sorted out. Following is information for your review. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. I will have my contact information set out below.

Rodeo Schedule

IIFR Wild Card Rodeo
Declare association (counting of points for PIRA is tentative - we are waiting to hear back from WIREA by end of week).

Top 2 in each event from each association plus winner from Wild Card Rodeos.

I am working on getting two more rodeo weekends in southern Sask this summer. So please keep posted to the websites.

If you know of any communities that would like to host a PIRA rodeo please have them contact me.

50% of Rodeos

Remember that you have to attend 50% of these rodeos to be eligible to compete at the PIRA Finals and you must compete at the PIRA Finals and 50% of the rodeos to be eligible to compete at the IIFR.

Currently, we have 5 rodeos to count points towards the PIRA season standings (exception of the NTA Rodeo, PIRA Finals and the IIFR). Therefore, in order to qualify for the PIRA Finals and IIFR you must attend 3 of the rodeos on either dates: April 23, April 24, May 9, July 31, & August 1! So, it is in your best interest now to go to start with the first rodeos in April!!

Memberships

In order to obtain membership to PIRA you must provide proof of your aboriginal ancestry. For most of you, I have the documentation on file, so there is no need unless I request it again! Just giving you a heads up!

Memberships are on sale now!! There is a 15% discount on or before the first sanctioned rodeo, which is April 23rd!!!!!

Senior Memberships: $75.00 less 15% on or before April 23rd = $63.75
Junior Memberships: $30.00 less 15% on or before April 23rd = $25.50
Permit Memberships: $25.00 less 15% on or before April 23rd = $21.25 (allows you to compete in a PIRA rodeo but no points will be counted)
Personnel & Associate Memberships: $50.00 less 15% on or before April 23rd = $42.50
65 Yrs of Age & Over (as of January 1st of the current year) - Memberships are Free! (proof of age required)

I will be on hand at the April 23rd rodeo to sell PIRA memberships, but you must purchase your memberships prior to paying your fees if you want your points counted towards PIRA!!! Or you may complete the attached membership application form along with your cheque or money order, and send it to me via Canada Post now. Or if you wish to use the deposit process then you will need to contact me for the banking info, fax or email me your bank deposit receipt with your name on it and your completed membership form and documentation for proof of aboriginal ancestry!!!

Other Info

I am attaching the Grey Eagle Casino Open All Indian Poster for April 3-5, 2010. Entries open March 8-10th from 6-9 pm @ (403) 971-9498 Paula, (403) 874-1083 (Carol) or (403) 281-1087 (Chaliss). This rodeo has $5000 added per event with entry fee of $100. The minor events are different though. Note that it is open and not a sanctioned rodeo. Please see the attached poster in jpg format.
