- Dear PIRA Members:
First, I want to
congratulate our 2009 PIRA Finals & Year End Champions along with our 2009 PIRA Year End High Point Cowboy &
Cowgirl Champions! The rodeo finals, chariot, and chuckwagon races provided so much action packed fun for us
and the spectators! Another rodeo season has come and gone with the exception
of the IIFR in Farmington, NM in October! I am saddened when the season draws to an end because that means I don't get
to see you all over the winter until the following summer! To me, rodeo is about family and friends and I want
to extend my gratitude to you all for coming out to support our Indian rodeo association in Saskatchewan! We do
know that with PIRA will continue to be a big supporter of the IIFR where our top PIRA contestants advance
to vie for Indian world titles year after year! So, encourage your community to host one of our shows! A huge thank you to the Battle River Horse Club, LaPlantes, and Round Lake Rodeo for hosting rodeos in
their communities this past year. Also, to our rodeo sponsors - Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority, Kahkewistahaw
First Nation, Cowessess First Nation, R & R Gas & Convenience, Bear Claw Casino, Painted Hand Casion, McMillan
Motor Products, Phillips, Hager & North, Stephen Pillipow, Louis Tapper, Barrantagh, Brabant & Company Law Office, Painted
Hand Community Development Corporation, Tubman's Memorial Services, Broadview Hotel, Cut Knife Agencies, Innovation Credit
Union, Rawlco Radio, Austin's Saddlery, Gold Eagle Casino, Lucerne Hotel, and BTC Indian Health. If it wasn't for
these communities, clubs or sponsors we would not be able to fulfill our IIFR agreement or send you to the IIFR! I wish that there could be more communities to host PIRA rodeos, so let us all do our best to lobby our communities
to host a PIRA rodeo! If you think that your community or local club would like to host a PIRA rodeo, please
give me a call. We are always willing to assist in seeking sponsorship and lobbying for those dollars! Please check out the Rodeo Results link for the PIRA Finals results, etc. on the IIFR website! Please check out the qualifier list that will be representing PIRA.
You must confirm your seat in your respective event by September 15th
the very latest! Fees must be due by September 23, 2009 the very latest - no exceptions! Fees: $300 + $30 IIFR admin fee (Major events) & $150 + $30 IIFR
admin fee (Junior events). Stalls $15/horse/night. All fees are payble by September 23, 2009 and remember this is US dollars! I am going to be putting
