When did you start
an interest in rodeo? “ I was born in to it, everyone around me was rodeoing, my brothers, my Dad, my
Uncle’s. At 11 years old I first started rodeoing, I won the calf roping.
My Dad Joe Bruisedhead, and Uncle Pete, helped me.
What other sports other than rodeo do you enjoy? Hockey and Little league baseball.
What is the funniest thing that you have seen or experienced
at a rodeo? “Too many funny things to mention, quite a few”
What advice would you give to Indian youth about rodeo or anything
in general? “Don’t Give up”
What advice would you give to Indian youth who wanted to participate
in rodeo but didn’t have the resources or support to get involved? “keep trying” “Go
to a roping school” I went to five roping schools when I was a kid” “Take care of your horse, feed them good, keep them in shape, they are your
partner going down the road, treat them good if your going to win”
Are their any songs that inspire or pump you up before you ride
or rope? “Not really”
What would you like to see more of at Indian Rodeos?
“More competitors, more purse money, now that we have the casinos, there should be a casino Indian Rodeo association,
What are/is your favorite western movie(s)? “John
Wayne, and Lonesome Dove” Streets of Laredo”
What is your favorite music? “Country”
“some Rap, some RockNRoll”
What was your most memorable ride or run? “Lethbridge
95 fastest run 7.7, I ended up by splitting sixth seventh and 8th, but if was
my fastest, Calf Roping, Team Roping High School rodeo in Carnation, Clint
and I were competing, we won the rodeo on 3 loops, Ivan Danes, was announcing he said he would never forget that run in 7
seconds is what we clocked. Bull Dogging: Crow Fair 4.9 in the first go
around, split 4 ways, won the short round and was second in the average, got
paid 2, 600 bucks, showed up with 12 bucks Canadian, got on Bob Gottfriedson’s horse, and won it.
Who is your all time hero? “My Dad, Joe Bruisedhead, he taught me everything” how
to rope, bull dogging, and how to rodeo”
What Indian Cowboy or Cowgirl has influenced you to rodeo? “My Dad, he was rodeoing hard when I was a kid, in all the same events”

in rodeo? “Well, since I started I have rodeo’d out of my own pockets, family friends, and supporters. “folks who lend their place to stay and a nice meal”
